Fitness Center

Our 5,000 square foot Fitness Center, features an Aerobic/Dance Studio and endless opportunities for fitness! Challenge your cardio using one of our many treadmills, ellipticals, or stationary bikes! Push your muscles to their max with our many weight machines, free weights, kettlebells, and functional equipment! Or, workout while making new friends in a fitness class! The Kroc Center is a participating facility of the Active&Fit®, Silver&Fit®, Silver Sneakers®, and Renew® insurance benefit program for active older adults! Fitness Center Rules and Guidelines

Concerns & Compliance

Fitness center participants should report all equipment malfunctions, personal injuries and specific concerns immediately to the staff. All participants are to comply with fitness center instructors’ directives regarding issues related to safety, programming, exercise techniques and policies. The Fitness Center staff on duty is ultimately responsible for enforcing all rules, regulations, and procedures. If at any time a member does not comply with the rules and/or the assistant on duty, the member will be asked to leave, and/or fitness center privileges will be revoked. Fitness Center staff has the right to enlist the help of Campus Security whenever such situations arise.

Exercise Etiquette

Disrupting or interfering with the workout of another member is not allowed. Respect the rights of others by using courteous and appropriate behavior. Allow others to work on weight equipment and be courteous of those waiting during peak times. Please replace all dumbbells and plates on the appropriate racks when finished. Please wipe perspiration off equipment after use. Please slow down, clear, and reset the cardio respiratory machines for the next member. Keep all cardio workouts under a maximum duration of 30 minutes.

The Salvation Army prohibits conduct or language that is improper, threatening or hazardous including but not limited to arguing, fighting, use of profanity, indecent behavior or inappropriate sexual activity and reserves the right to deny guest privileges, suspend or even terminate a membership for failure to comply with these rules or for any other reason.

Free Weights Etiquette

Compliance with free weights includes the following: Collars are to be used at ALL times to secure weights on bars. After utilizing equipment, strip bars and return plates and dumbbells to proper storage areas. Please keep dumbbells and weight plates in their designated areas. Please DO NOT throw dumbbells or weight plates on the floor.

Dress Code

Members are required to wear appropriate exercise attire at all times. A shirt must be worn to cover the upper body, shorts must be mid-thigh or longer; socks and athletic shoes are also required. No jeans, casual clothing, open-toed shoes, open-backed shoes, boots, sandals, or casual shoes permitted. Please refrain from wearing perfume or cologne while working out. Please make sure that the bottoms of your shoes are clean. We try very hard to keep your center clean and the dirt is hard on the cardio equipment. Failure to dress properly will result in denial to workout.

Personal Items & Valuables

The Salvation Army is not responsible for lost or stolen personal items. Valuables should be secured in lockers. You must bring your own lock and remove it at the end of your workout. Items will not be held at the front desk. Lockers may used for daily use. Locks and items left overnight will be removed nightly. Locks are available for purchase at the Fitness Center check-in desk. All bags, coats, and  personal items should be kept in lockers and are not permitted on the Fitness Center or Dance Studio floor.
